Surprise! We’re getting a jumpstart on August and rolling out our top picks for the month’s events ahead of schedule. There are so many fun summer happenings to choose from here in NYC, and we want to be sure you don’t miss a single one. FAD Market at Governors Island
Every third weekend of the month through October, Governors Island will play host to FAD Market from 11am-5pm. The market features a rotating lineup of the area’s best emerging artisans, creators, and small businesses. Browse through jewelry, artwork, apparel, home goods, and more, all while enjoying the peaceful escape of tree-lined King Ave. and the nearby Yankee Pier. “The Bungalow” at Brookfield Place
Now through the end of September, head to nearby Brookfield Place to check out their special seasonal pop-up The Bungalow. Free and open to the public, The Bungalow will offer a wide range of events and live entertainment throughout the summer, including a Drink + Draw event on Wednesday, August 4th and a Hydration Happy Hour on Friday, August 13th. Mini-Lawns at Pier 17
Head to The Seaport district for a uniquely New York--and covid-safe--dining and entertainment experience. The Greens returns to Pier 17’s waterfront rooftop, offering 10-foot by 10-foot mini-lawns, all set up for a socially-distant taste of suburbia right here in downtown Manhattan. Enjoy plenty of room to stretch out--each mini-lawn is equipped to host up to eight people and comes complete with a loveseat and lounge chairs, panoramic views, and on-site contactless food and beverage purchase options. Bryant Park Movie Nights
A popular summer tradition in NYC, Bryant Park Movie Nights returns with a showing of Clueless on August 23rd! Through September 28th, the park will screen classic film favorites, including Mrs. Doubtfire and Moulin Rouge!, every Monday and Tuesday. Bring a blanket and your pals to enjoy movie night under the stars. Concession stands open at 5pm and movies will begin at sundown. Pixar-Themed Mini Golf
For a family-friendly activity near Gateway, check out the Pixar-themed mini-golf pop-up happening this month at Pier A in Battery Park City. Beginning August 1st, Pixar Putt will feature an open-air course designed around the characters of the beloved movie classics. Open 7 days a week, the course welcomes all ages from 10am-8pm and offers Putt After-Dark on Fridays and Saturdays from 7pm-10pm for adults only. Find more info and reserve tickets here.
