Aug 27, 2020

Outdoor dining is always a delight during the summer, and with the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus, now it’s become more of a treat than ever. Fortunately, with our beautiful waterfront location here at Gateway, there are plenty of options nearby for safely enjoying a nice meal outside. Read ahead for more info on some of our favorite local spots!

Seamore’s

With multiple locations throughout the city, Seamore’s is known for its fresh take on sustainable seafood options--think fish tacos, lobster mac, and happy hour oyster specials. Their Brookfield Place outpost has a large patio area with extensive outdoor seating available. They’ve also started hosting patio movie nights on Mondays and Wednesdays. Tickets are currently sold out, but check back soon with their Instagram for added dates! Open daily 12-9pm.

El Vez

Craving guacamole or a pizza pie-sized dish of delicious nachos? El Vez has plenty of outdoor seating for getting your tortilla and margarita fix on! To guarantee a spot, you can make reservations on their patio up to one week in advance. Their hours are Monday-Wednesday 11:30-9pm, Thursday-Friday 11:30-10pm, Saturday 11-10pm, and Sunday 11-9pm.

Le District

The restaurants at Le District French marketplace have fabulous outdoor patio seating that faces the Hudson River and the Waterfront Esplanade. Try Liberty Bistro for elevated French dining or Le Bar for artisan crafted cocktails and an extensive wine list in a beautiful setting. Hours vary, so check their Instagram or website for more information.

Tartinery

Tartinery is a wonderful spot to enjoy a crisp glass of rosé paired with the perfect avocado toast. The Tartinery Shack at Brookfield Place is situated right on the outdoor patio, with lots of seating for enjoying a bite to eat while people-watching the passersby on The Esplanade. Open daily from 11-9pm.

Described as “an iconic American saloon,” find options like a raw bar, plenty of classic appetizers, and a  mouth-watering burger at P.J’s. Open Monday and Tuesday from 3-9:30pm and Wednesday-Sunday from 12-9:30.

Merchants River House

Merchants River House is open and ready to welcome you to their outdoor dining experience. Watch the sunset on the Hudson while enjoying a delicious meal on their patio. Their menu is focused on fresh seafood options and classic American fare. Hours vary, check here for more info.

Grand Banks

For drinks and a good time right on the Hudson, look no further than the oyster bar at Grand Banks. It’s no typical dining experience that you’ll find here--Grand Banks is located on an old boat that’s been reconfigured into a unique waterfront dining and entertainment experience. You can make reservations and find information on their hours here.
