Jul 30, 2020

At Gateway, we’re so fortunate to have an abundance of city parks and green spaces right outside our door. For those with pups, this makes incorporating ample outdoor time into their daily routine super easy and convenient. With so many options nearby, we’ve rounded up our 5 favorite local dog runs to make sure you’re finding the best spots for you and your doggo!

Sirius Dog Run

Steps from home, the Sirius Dog Run is a close and safe option for letting your dog run free in the fenced enclosure. Located on Kowsky Plaza, the asphalt run features a dog water fountain, a hose for cleaning, and lots of seating for dog owners, plus a wading pool in warmer months. The park is named after a rescue lab that gave his life during 9/11.

North End Dog Run

Part of Battery Park City, the North End Avenue Dog Run has separate areas for large and small dogs. Their asphalt space is shaded and has a water fountain for cooling off during the summer months. This great spot provides plenty of room for dogs to run around and get some exercise.

West Thames Street Dog Run

Also located within Battery Park City, the West Thames Street Dog Run provides a well-maintained, paved space for dogs. With separate areas for large and small dogs, owners can partake of the shaded seating options while watching their pups play nicely with others. Also features water fountains and hoses for cleaning and keeping dogs hydrated and cool.

Tribeca Dog Run

The Tribeca Dog Run is found within Hudson River Park and features separate options for large and small dogs in a beautiful setting. The fenced park has double-gated entry, a water fountain, and sprinkler areas for your dog to enjoy.

Fish Bridge Park Dog Run

In the Financial District, the Fish Bridge Park Dog Run is the perfect place for some safe off-leash fun for your pet. The dog run is paved and fenced, cleaned frequently, and has water fountain and pool options for your dog’s comfort and protection.
